![]() ![]() With many options to choose from as you play along with lots of challenges to carry out on each of the three tables it is a lot of fun to play. The music on the colony table for example sounds like a constant high pitched squeal and because of this, I always play with the music off.Īn excellent pinball simulation which is much better than your average pinball game. When you see how much work has gone into the graphical design for the game, you would think that more time would have been spent on the music. The music for the game is way below average for the game. The tables also have many buildings and levels on which make the game more fun. They are brilliantly designed and have themes such as a space station or a colony on Mars. I also liked the fact that the tables available are not just average pinball tables with a pair of flippers at the bottom. When the mine is built, after you achieve certain challenges beforehand, you will actually be able to see the mine in action throughout the rest of the game. As you get more and more points on one of the three pinball tables available to you, you are able to carry out specific tasks (e.g build a mine). The outstanding feature in the game is the graphics. Two of the Fun Zone puzzles send you to secondary tables, a River Rafting table and a Lightning Racer Virtual Coaster.Overall, this pinball simulation was excellent. There are two multiball ramps, one a roller coaster (the Wildcat) and one a water ride (the Coal Cracker). Thrill Ride has one primary table, which doubles as a region for Fun Zone puzzles, and a secondary Thrill Zone table to one side. It is set in Hersheypark with rides and theme park elements as puzzles and table features. The PC version was included in Sierra's Game Room for the PC in 2004. The last released, Thrill Ride (1999) also received a Game Boy Color version. Power(1999) was a compilation released in 1999, featuring the first game, Creep Night and Lost Continent, and as a bonus, The Incredible Machine and a demo of 3-D Ultra Golf. It features several famous NASCAR drivers like Dale Earnhart and Bobby Labonte as playable characters, but the choice affects only audio commentaries and field decorations. The game only has 3 fields: garage, track and pitstop. Like in Tower, after beating them a Catapult appears, and you have to hit it some times. The Challenges are: Gobbler (a ghost chases the ball to eat it), Spiders, Dimension Door (if hit, activates a "Simon"-like game), Trapdoor (similar to "Vortex") and Skeleton Escape (six skeletons come out of the cells for you to hit). After finishing all 5 challenges, you revive a "Frankenstein monster" and need to hit him 5 times. ![]() The challenges are: Rat, Energy Gate (similar to Vortex, but "single-balled"), Beast, Goblin, and Dynamo. Its challenges are Zombies, Goblins, Runaway (a goblin riding an ATV runs through the table), Vortex (multi-ball, in which you must shoot in the vortex) and Wraith (a female magnetic ghost tries to capture the ball). Castle, fragmented in town, castle area and graveyard. The second game, Creep Night(1996) had a horror film set, and 3 different tables(and after finishing all challenges in a table, you could travel to the other ones): Reviewing the Macintosh version, a Next Generation critic commented that "There is some substance to the argument that pinball is not a game meant for the monitor, but 3-D Ultra Pinball works, and it works very well." He particularly praised the fact that the graphics and physics both include elements not possible on a real pinball table, while remaining "true to the pinball spirit." Despite this, he gave it only two out of five stars. The goal is to build and launch a Starship completing the game's entire course. Smaller "mini-tables" are featured with their own set of flippers. Each table holds a set of five challenges. There are three tables named Colony, Command Post, and Mine. This game is based on the space simulation game, Outpost. The original 3-D Ultra Pinball game was released in 1995. ![]()
